POSITION SUMMARY/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the engineering team, the Controls Systems Specialist / Engineer assists in the design and engineering of current cyclotron projects as well as commissions and supports completed systems. You get to work closely with senior engineers to identify issues or changes and develop solutions. The successful candidate will develop the skills and knowledge to be able to engineer the control system for an entire project on their own.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Certificate / Diploma of Technology combined with experience OR Degree in Electrical and/or Control System Engineering.
Industrial experience with control systems in a manufacturing/production environment
Prior experience with HMI programming and structuring, in particular AB Rockwell FactoryTalk or RSView
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good knowledge and understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of programmable controllers, HMI design and circuits, and real time programming.
Proficient in Microsoft office, networking, AutoCAD electrical.
Ability to understand other fields of engineering.
Strong technical drafting, documentation, multitasking and organizational skills.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English and be able to effectively communicate information to other employees.
Training in Rockwell Automation MMI and Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and programming are considered an asset
Fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
Travel to customer sites required; a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally are required.
Some work is conducted in a machine shop where safety equipment such as safety glasses and safety footwear must be worn.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and prepared to travel abroad.
